Міжнародна школа по ядерних даних

The aim of the school is to introduce and deliver concise and the most recent information on nuclear data measurements required both for fundamental research and various applications. The lectures would cover the experimental techniques associated with the use of neutron beams, relevant instrumentation, data taking and analysis approaches prior to data evaluations and theoretical interpretation. The school will also give an opportunity for participants to experience the virtual experiments and measurement techniques from various case studies of nuclear data measurements and analysis methodologies. The event is targeted for countries that seek to develop/upgrade neutron beam facilities, research reactor or accelerator based, and/or extend their use for high precision nuclear data measurements. The meeting’s outcomes are to ensure that the knowledge of nuclear data experiments and various measurement techniques are maintained and spread, particularly for countries with less developed R&D infrastructures. This is in particular relevant for the research reactors or accelerator based neutron sources with on-going/new projects on neutron beam applications. Topics to be covered: The school curriculum will be designated to cover a range of topics that are relevant to Member States, especially developing countries, that are considering starting or upgrading their nuclear data experimental facilities. The preliminary list of topics to be covered include: • Needs/justification for high precision nuclear data measurements and their actual status • Introduction to neutron sources: reactor and accelerator based • Introduction to fundamentals and advances in nuclear data measurements using neutron beams • Guidelines on required – neutron beam characteristics – instrumentation, data acquisition systems, associated software – experimental setup, data taking, and data analysis – uncertainty estimation protocols and methodologies – standardization of techniques with respect to reference measurements – staff training and qualification • Case-studies and procedures on measurements of neutron induced: – capture cross section – fission cross section – (n,xn) and (n,chp) – Prompt neutron and prompt gamma multiplicities from fission – Fission fragments – … • Basic experimental training A: hands-on-virtual experiments and data taking in small groups • Basic experimental training B: hands-on-real data pre-analysis and final analysis in small groups • Determination of experimental errors and uncertainties • Introduction to covariance data and correlations associated with experimental data • Introduction to data evaluations and evaluated data files There will be about 10 lecturers and laboratory tutors for practical exercises.
